An exciting Medical Secretary Supervisor position has arisen within the Surgery Centre.

This is a varied, interesting and demanding post, working as part of a great team in an ever-evolving environment.

This role will be in partnership with the existing Medical Secretary Supervisor, working collaboratively to cover six specialty teams of secretaries in their daily management whilst running development, efficiency, and improvements projects alongside. 

The post is 27 hours per week which can be worked flexibly and will be agreed upon appointment. Monday to Friday working across multiple hospital locations.

Leadership and line management skills,
Excellent oral and written communication skills,
Audio-typing,
Minute taking,
Medical Terminology,
Emotional resilience.
Previous Medical Secretary experience and up-to-date knowledge to be able to assist when needed,
Self-motivated person with excellent time management and organisation skills.

Main duties of the job

Applicants should have:

Previous experience in supervising/managing staff or demonstrate they can develop in this area.  Previous/current NHS experience would be advantageous.
Have excellent high level administration skills including advanced/accurate keyboard skills. 
A good understanding of the role of the Medical Secretary is required and previous experience would be beneficial.
Good organisational and planning skills with excellent communication and time management skills.
The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and the ability to work as part of a team to manage and help staff through change.
A positive attitude to change and proactive attitude to implement changes to meet service demands.
It is essential that applicants have good interpersonal skills and can develop strong working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful applicant will be joining the Surgery team at a very busy time and will provide vital help to the secretarial teams during periods of change and challenge,  alongside the Trusts HTP developments.

This role will be in partnership with the existing Medical Secretary Supervisor providing cross cover and will involve cross site working.
