Main duties of the job

To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own specialist caseload of      complex patients as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and HCPC Regulations.

To have developed, through experience and postgraduate training, the specialist knowledge and clinical skills required for the post. 

The post holder will work in close co-operation with colleagues within all Care Groups to deliver a cohesive service that is user led ensuring a consistently high standard of patient care, optimal patient flow and safe 
timely discharge.

To work closely with team co-ordinators and senior therapists to ensure a robust structure of training, supervision and appraisal is delivered to all members within the team.

To act as a source of Specialist advice and support within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust and the wider health economy.

Working for our organisation

We regularly have bank shifts available during weekdays and at weekends covering a variety of inpatient areas including orthopaedics, cardiology, respiratory, endocrinology, care of the elderly, frailty at the front door (ED), oncology, stroke and general surgery. 

We also have bank shifts available within our Outpatient Therapy Department. We have a dynamic outpatient team within SaTH where there are extensive facilities available to support Patient care. Our service covers MSK clinics, hand therapy, fracture clinics, hydrotherapy, gym based rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, neurology, amputee rehab, Fast Track service for staff, pelvic health, injection clinics, ED clinics  and APPs covering a virtual fracture clinic. You will have a caseload of consultant and GP referrals from across Shropshire.
