Recruitment Newsletter - March 2024

From celebrating our incredible team members to showcasing the vast array of career opportunities available within the NHS, this is our March newsletter!

We kicked off March with Employee Appreciation Day taking place on the 1st. This was a perfect opportunity to show our gratitude for everything that our amazing employees do. So a big thank you to all our incredible staff who work together to provide excellent care to our communities!

National Careers Week also took place from 4th - 8th March. We shared staff stories and highlighted the diverse range of careers available within the NHS. From administration staff to nurses, technicians to doctors, there's a role for everyone within the NHS. In case you missed it, you can take the NHS Careers quiz to find your ideal career with us - it's never too late to discover your perfect NHS role!

Healthcare Science Week (11th - 15th March) was a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on the vital role that science plays within healthcare. You can read more about some of our amazing Healthcare Scientists in our previous blog post.

During March we had the opportunity to come and meet many of you at various events. We were thrilled to be part of the Telford Skills Show, working in collaboration with our colleagues across the ICS to connect with the next generation of healthcare professionals. Our team also attended the Royal College of Nursing job fair in Birmingham, where they spoke to both aspiring nurses and experienced nursing professionals about the opportunities available within SaTH.

Recruitment freeze update

As you may be aware, there is currently a recruitment freeze in place at the Trust. You can read more about it in this Shropshire Star article.

Whilst the freeze is in place, the Recruitment team have been working together to explore new and innovative ideas for onboarding within the Trust. We're committed to ensuring a smooth transition for new colleagues, enabling them to settle in quickly and hit the ground running in their new roles. We're looking forward to working on implementing some new onboarding processes which will benefit colleagues who join us in the future.
