**This vacancy is Subject to Agenda for Change)
Are you currently working as a band 6 nurse and aspiring to be a band 7 Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist?
We recognise that you may not have the clinical skills currently, and we are happy to train the right person to lead this team in the future (awarding the band 7 on completion of training). You would be supported in your training and development by the Consultants, Dietician, Pharmacist and Matron to achieve the knowledge and skills required. This will include supporting you to become a Nurse Prescriber. You will be integral to the MDT meetings and working autonomously once fully trained.
This highly skilled, passionate and enthusiastic person will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, responsible for the day to day clinical care of patients receiving parenteral or enteral nutrition via intravenous infusion, nasogastric, gastrostomy or jejunostomy tubes.
As part of a newly created Nutrition Support Team you will work collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary teams, assisting and providing support and clinical care to patients receiving parenteral or enteral nutrition. In addition, the post holder will work closely with dietitians, pharmacists and Clinicians to provide support to patients and their families.
A key element for the Clinical Nurse Specialist will be to improve our patients experiences through a variety of service evaluation and patient care. You will be required to provide advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health care professionals. This role will lead to an extremely positive service for all patients accessing this.
This is a full-time post, working Monday to Friday based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but with an expectation to work cross site at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, with a community link as required.
