Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Nurse who wishes to support with a lead role in the ongoing development of the Medicine Division.  You must have current or recent experience in a Senior Nurse operational role at Band 7 or above.

 

Main duties of the job

With proven leadership skills, you will have overall day to day responsibility for the nursing teams in a range of wards and departments and be able to effectively manage complex operational and professional issues to ensure high standards of clinical care.

The post is currently based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but will require cross site working within both hospital settings.

You will work with the senior clinical and operational management team to influence, motivate, support and drive through change and service improvement to meet the Division and corporate objectives.

Essential criteria

Registered Nurse Part 1
Masters level education or equivalent professional qualification or experience
Evidence of management development
Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development

Management Experience

Essential criteria

Evidence of significant post registration senior nursing experience in a relevant specialty
Evidence of successful management of clinical services in the acute sector
Evidence of effective design and management of patient flows and pathways
Evidence of leading the implementating service improvement including complex change management programmes
Evidence of successful management of a budget
Experience of managing clinical and non-clinical risk

Specialist Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential criteria

Specialist knowledge, skills and experience in medicine specialties
Ability to manage a range of staff groups/professions to deliver objectives and targets
Knowledge of quality improvement tools and methodology
Comprehensive knowledge of current professional practice and health policy requirements
