An exciting career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Nurse who wishes to play a lead role to positively impact on the experience of patients and their families in the role of a Matron within the Division of Surgery Anaesthetics Critical Care and Cancer.

With proven leadership skills you will have overall day to day responsibility for nursing teams ensuring efficient and effective management of complex operational and professional issues to ensure high quality care and patient experience.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced nurse for a fixed term 12 month development Matron post.  You will possess excellent communication skills and work effectively within our multi- disciplinary team.  This dynamic and exciting role will support the development of a senior member of the Divisional Management team within Scheduled Care, proactively developing services to meet the changing needs of our surgical patients.

 

Main duties of the job

 

Providing senior professional nurse leadership, the post holder is accountable for patient experience and the delivery of high quality services within designated departments, wards and areas of the Scheduled Care Group, ensuring efficient and effective management of all resources in order to deliver safe and effective care in an environment of continuous improvement.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the achievement of operational and strategic objectives within their area of responsibility, with particular emphasis on the quality of care, the patient experience, infection control, patient and public involvement, clinical service improvement and health education and promotion. The Matron portfolio will include the Surgical Assessment Unit and Ward 37.
