We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Senior Nurse to manage the Hospital at Night Team.

The role will involve working closely with the Lead Nurse and Medical Lead for Deteriorating patient/Hospital at Night and will be accountable for the Hospital at Night team across both sites .

The Hospital at Night team have been running for over 10 years at SaTH and has Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Support workers within the team.

The post holder will need to have completed their physical assessment and non medical prescribing in order to act as a clinical role model within the team and provide help and guidance to any new staff joining.

The post will be 50/50 split between clinical and non clinical work, as such it should be expected that out of hours work will be undertaken 

Main duties of the job

Providing senior professional nurse leadership, the post holder is accountable for the Hospital at Night team and contributing to the deteriorating patient workstream. The postholder is also accountable for the delivery of high quality services within designated departments, wards and areas of the Trust, ensuring efficient and effective management of all resources in order to deliver safe and effective patient care in an environment of continuous improvement.

The post holder will be accountable for ensuring the achievement of operational and strategic objectives within their area of responsibility, with particular emphasis on the quality of care, the patient experience, the care environment, patient and public involvement, clinical service improvement and health education and promotion

The Lead nurse for Hospital at Night team sits within the corporate nursing division at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital. 

Support and advice is always on hand from the senior nurse team within the corporate nurse division.
