An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Medicine Division at both The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford for a Divisional Deputy Director of Nursing for Medicine.? This post is part of the Division’s leadership team and is to support and deputise for the Divisional Director of Nursing for Medicine. Providing and delivering professional and operational leadership for Nursing within the Division, including devising, implementing and reviewing strategies for the development of clinical practice, education, and management and quality issues.

The post holder will participate in the Trust’s On Call Manager rota

Main duties of the job

The post requires someone with the ability to think and act strategically, set direction in a complex environment and manage relationships with a wide range of senior colleagues. You will have high level analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, and a strong understanding of clinical speciality management across several specialities at once. You will have experience of delivering programmes of work and leading teams.? 

With excellent communication skills you will need to be able to establish your credibility at all levels internally and externally, and be able to quickly build relationships within your own team and the wider organisation. Recent NHS Experience
Current practising Registered practitioner with appropriate professional body
Evidence of Master’s level study or equivalent professional qualification
Evidence of continuous professional and management development

Previous or relevant experienc

Essential criteria

Senior leadership experience
Evidence of working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
Experience of leading the implementation of service improvement, complex change management programmes at a management level
Evidence of effective resource management
Able to demonstrate the use of evidence when decision making
Experience of measuring and evaluating outcomes in order to secure improvement

Aptitudes and Skills

Ability to develop relationships and influence a range of stakeholders
