Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen within the Medical Rostering Team for a fixed term appointment for 12 months at band 3 level as Medical Rostering Assistant to commence as soon as possible.

You will be focused on providing an excellent service for both our Medical and Dental workforce. You will have the opportunity to embrace the challenge of working in a highly demanding environment and must have excellent organisational and communication skills with strong attention to detail and customer focus.

You will be working as part of an experienced team and due to the nature of the role there will be conflicting and changing priorities making it an exciting and interesting role.

Main duties of the job

You will proactively manage the Trusts bank and agency bookings to fill vacant shifts, whilst adhering to NHS rates, using two portals. You will be working closely with Medical and Dental staff across the Trust as well as dealing with agencies, Divisional Managers and other Teams, you will also work closely with the Medical Recruitment Team to assist in the co-ordination of the recruitment process identifying vacancies and rota gaps. You will have a great deal of contact with the Trusts Medical and Dental staff as you will be responsible for processing their leave , updating the Rotas and ensuring that any swaps are compliant with the Junior Doctor contract and  Working Time Directive (WTD).

Essential criteria

Good educational achievements including GCSE Grade C or above (9-4) (or equivalent) in English and Maths or NVQ level 2 or equivalent experience
Commitment to ongoing personal development

Experience and Knowledge

Experience working in a busy office environment
Understanding of issues facing the NHS medical workforce

Skills and Ability

Essential criteria

Must be computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office software
Excellent administrative skills
