**Subject to confirmation of Agenda for Change Banding**

The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust (SaTH) has made the commitment to implement a Trust-wide quality improvement and management system.  The Kaizen Promotion Office was established in 2015 to lead the implementation of this ‘Transforming Care’ lean approach across the Trust.  Due to a vacancy we are looking to recruit a dynamic individual who can work closely with the Clinical lead for the KPO team and the senior leadership group to drive the next phase of this work in partnership with Virginia Mason Institute (VMI Seattle).

The successful individual will join an exciting and significant national NHS transformational programme now in its 4th year.  Working with teams across the Trust, patients, external partners, NHSI and VMI the KPO lead will identify opportunities for improvement, embed and sustain solutions, maintaining appropriate pace and profile.

This is a senior role with a remit to deliver the implementation of the transforming care production System (TCPS), to support the transformation agenda and Trust-wide improvement plans, ensuring there is a consistent approach to how we improve the safety, productivity and efficiency of our services that meets the needs of the people we serve.

The post holder will train and guide staff at all levels of the Trust, to use the tools associated with the TCPS using advanced lean tools, based on Virginia Mason Production System.  Coaching and solution focused thinking is an integral part of this role.

As KPO Lead you will have managerial responsibility for the KPO team, and responsibility to both develop and contribute to a culture and environment that promotes collaboration and the achievement of continuous improvement and ‘best practice’.

We are looking for someone with significant experience of delivering transformational change using lean production system methodology; someone who can inspire and motivate people to improve quality and who can demonstrate that they have done this previously.  A proven track record of successfully managing significant service redesign and change in complex settings is important as is knowledge of the organisation and the challenges we face.

If you would like to work with a senior leadership team and KPO team who are fully committed to maximising the benefits of one management and improvement approach, who are personally demonstrating this by undertaking lean training and using the approach on a daily basis and have the passion to be involved in shaping the direction of travel, then this could be the perfect job for you.

Please note, the successful candidate will be required to travel on occasions to support the development of this work with partnership organisations within the UK, and may be required to attend international locations.
