An opportunity has arisen to recruit a part time Cleanliness Monitoring Officer to work within our friendly team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, hard-working, person with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of staff groups at all levels.

Applicants must have good attention to detail and be able to record data accurately on an iPad, have an approachable nature and the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of this post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is required to carry out Cleanliness Monitoring across all sites of The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust in line with the 49 elements specified in the National Specification for Cleanliness in the NHS.  The postholder will be carrying out monthly audits and the scores are fed into software which results in pass or fail for departments. The scores are then presented to area managers.

The main duties of this role involves carrying out cleanliness audits across all of The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust sites.  Fulfilling a monthly programme of monitoring in line with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness in conjunction with nursing colleagues from areas being audited. 

Working for our organisation

The successful candidate will join a small cleanliness monitoring team who pride themselves on being friendly, approachable and supportive. You will work across both Shrewsbury and Telford hospital sites, visiting wards and departments to assess cleanliness and record findings. You will mainly work alongside another colleague but there will also be the opportunity to monitor cleanliness by yourself on occasion. The work involves liaising with Departmental, Nursing and Cleanliness Teams.

Essential criteria

NVQ Level 3 qualification in business administration or facilities associated service or equivalent
IOSH Qualification or NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Health & Safety

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of NHS Environment
Knowledge of cleanliness within an NHS environment and NHS Specification for Cleanliness within the NHS

Desirable criteria

Experience of using software systems. Carrying handheld devices and downloading information
Understanding of Healthcare service
