Applications are invited from an experienced professional to take on a key role as the Blood Sciences Quality Manager; this role requires you to work closely with Pathology staff, consultants and departmental quality officers.
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that the existing QMS is maintained and that the laboratories meet their accreditation requirements including UKAS ISO15189, MHRA and various other relevant accreditation and QA inspections.
The successful applicant will also be expected to work together with other pathology departments to put together the yearly audit schedule, carrying out periodic audits in each department and keeping track of audits to ensure compliance. You will be considered as a point of contact and reference with regards to audits and other quality related issues.
The Blood Sciences Department operates across three sites, the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, the Princess Royal Hospital and the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital; the post will involve travel between the sites and attendance at key Pathology quality meetings.
The department has successfully transitioned to UKAS ISO15189 accreditation standards and has a robust QMS in place.
Applicants must hold an MSc or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences and IBMS Certificate of Expert Practice in Quality Management or equivalent. Applicants must be registered HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist and be able to demonstrate extensive experience in in Quality Management and accreditation processes. Applicants must be capable of leading change and implementing efficient working arrangements and have excellent communication, interpersonal, strong leadership and organisational skills
