Due to the introduction of SABR, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Therapy Radiographer with experience in all aspects of Radiotherapy but with a special interest and experience in SABR and IGRT to join our department.

We offer a supportive, collaborative working environment and the chance to participate in our Radiographer led initiatives, including Review Clinics, Site specific MDTs, virtual simulation and IGRT.

The department is open for treating patients from 8am until 6pm and full-time posts work 37.5 hours over four days.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated person who would be committed to helping us continually improve the service that we offer our patients in Shropshire and Mid Wales.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of SABR for all patients, training staff as required and audit of clinical practice to maintain quality of patient care.

They will also be expected to maintain their clinical competencies in  all treatment areas and participate in the on-call rota, bank holiday working and extended hours as required.

Working for your organisation

The department consists of 3 matched Truebeam Linear Accelerators a Gulmay Unit and a Toshiba wide bore CT scanner with radiographer-led palliative virtual simulation using Eclipse.  A new CT scanner is to be installed 2021/22. 

We are planning to introduce SABR for Lung and Oligomets soon and also have approval to introduce Space OAR.   

We have an active Clinical Trials department and participate in most major trials.
