The Accident and Emergency Department at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust offers a great opportunity to join our brand new Play team on a permanent contract.

Our play team work with children up to the age of 16 years of age, supporting them through their hospital journey.  The successful candidate will work with children who are in Hospital with short and long term medical conditions.  Their role focuses on normalising play, distraction therapy, preparing children for investigations and treatment and supporting the emotional aspect of their Emergency Journey.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and inspired individual to join our Play Team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be apart of our team of over 120 staff members who provide care for acutely ill children and provide advanced care to children requiring a range of interventions and treatment.  They will work within the Accident and Emergency Department at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford (PRH) and The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH).
