An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in The Discharge Lounge at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital!
We are looking for someone who is caring and compassionate with strong communication and observation skills, to deliver excellent patient-focused care in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will provide essential clinical and administrative support to the Registered Nurses (RNs) within the Discharge Lounge (Ward 31), including, collecting patients from wards, collecting discharge letters and medications, booking hospital transport, liaising with members of the multidisciplinary team and communicating with care homes, relatives and community hospitals.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide support and assist Registered Nurses delivering all aspects of health care directly to patients, within defined levels of competence and practice. This will include assisting in maintaining a suitable environment in which to deliver that care.
Working for our organisation
The Discharge Lounge supports patients whilst waiting to be discharged, either home or to their next place of care.
The Discharge Lounge will be supported by a dedicated team of health care professions, who are there to ensure the patients' experience is maintained to a very high standard.
