This post involves working closely with our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in all areas of the inpatient wards. The role includes information gathering from the patient or family member face to face or by telephone to gather a social and functional history. The post will also involve physical work to help patients regain their independence and equipment assessment and provision to enable a safe and effective discharge from the hospital.

The role will work both with the therapists and also individually with patients under the guidance of the therapists.

We have both full time posts  (37.5 hours) and part time posts, (18.75) over 3 working days available Monday to Friday .

All posts will include participating in a rota to facilitate patient progression and discharge at weekends, with a rostered day off before or after the weekend day worked.

We are looking for enthusiastic, team players to join our in patient Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Team as Therapy Support Workers at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Shrewsbury. 

This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills with a team of friendly and dedicated therapists, who strive to provide the best possible care to patients who have been admitted to the wards at SaTH. You will work under supervision from the therapists, assisting them in patient treatments whilst also delivering some therapy programmes on your own.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, has excellent organisational and time management skills, enjoys working in a team and is dedicated to providing high quality patient care.
