Are you a Student ODP about to qualify or a qualified ODP/Theatre Practitioner looking for your next exciting move? Theatres are having a Recruitment Event on the 12th June in the morning to welcome anyone who would be interested in coming to work in the new Surgical Elective Hub.

What to expect on the day:

  • Meet the teams and understand your role within Theatres in the Elective Surgical Hub
  • Videos and demonstrations from our team
  • Opportunity to get hands on with our equipment and instrumentation
  • Meet some of our ODPs who currently work in Theatres

The day will also offer you the opportunity to interview and potentially leave with a provisional job offer!

Theatres have an extensive development package and opportunities with in their “Grow your own “workforce. 

We welcome applicants who are within their last year of training with both full and part time positions are available.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to join The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) Theatre Department at a time when we are redeveloping a workforce to help the recovery and restoration programme to provide safe, quality services that are accessible and sustainable for future generations.

Working as part of a team you will provide exceptional care for each patient, only ever caring for one patient at a time, enabling you to ensure you are always doing your very best for every patient every time.

Working for our organisation

We can offer you dedicated support whilst you settle into your new role. You will remain supernumerary until the Theatre competencies are completed (typically 3 months recovery, 9 months Theatres), and we also have a committed internal professional development team who oversee all training we provide. There is also specific Theatres training and courses available to help you develop your skills and progress your career with SaTH.

The vision for the Elective Hub is to provide high volume low complexity surgery, to achieve this we will require dynamic, enthusiastic practitioners who are dedicated to high quality perioperative care for our patients.

The well-being of our staff is of the upmost importance to us.  If you are offered a role at our Trust, and fall into the increased and higher risk categories as set out by Public Health England (PHE) and NHSI/E, your line manager will complete an risk assessment with you.  This will be completed in conjunction with the latest guidance from Public Health England in relation to Covid-19.
