We are looking for an enthusiastic band 6 physiotherapist to join us as part of the in patient medical team.
The unscheduled therapy team, based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, are a multi-professional team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists covering medical patients following admission from the emergency department through to discharge from hospital. The team also includes therapy support workers whose work spans both professions and provides the patient with holistic and joined-up care. The post includes involvement in the in service training rota as well as clinical supervision of both therapy staff and students.
The clinical caseload covers speciality wards of cardiology- including Coronary Care, nephrology & endocrinology, respiratory and short stay. Experience of these areas is essential though specific teaching is constant within the department. The post is expected to have regular involvement with the out patient cardiac rehabilitation programme on site.
The post is full time although job shares would be considered as long as full time cover is achieved. The post is expected to participate in the weekend working respiratory rota and be an active part of the on call team.
