We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, innovative and friendly Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Stroke, Rehabilitation and Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This post is a 12 month part-time fixed term/ secondment position to provide maternity cover.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who has Stroke/ Neurology experience, is flexible, has good time management skills, works well in a team as well as independently and is able to support and appraise Band 5's and Therapy Support Worker staff. This post holder would be expected to mentor students by being a practice educator linked with the Universities.
Occasionally the post holder will be required to support their medical therapy colleagues with the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions on the acute wards.

We are delighted to be able to offer patients who have had a stroke the opportunity of assessment and treatment by the Stroke and Rehabilitation Therapy Team over the weekend and Bank Holidays and this post holder would be expected to participate in the 7-day working rota for this.
Working for our organisation
Our acute stroke service is based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. Services include hyper acute and acute stroke care wards and Stroke Early Supported Discharge (ESD). The post holder would rotate between the inpatient and ESD setting.
The team have a robust supervision structure and a strong drive for personal and professional development across all bands and roles facilitating events within the team, department, Trust and externally to enable the best possible care is delivered to patients.
Within Therapies we have a strong culture of professional leadership and support. Each profession has a head of profession leading on delivering local, regional and national professional strategy. This includes AHP’s into action, job planning, electronic rostering, electronic data capture, quality improvement strategy, and representation at internal and external meetings raising the profile of Therapies at all times.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
Registered with Health and Care Professions Council
Evidence of specialist clinical training in relevant areas
Experience
