The ward is made up of 29 beds, looking after a range of patients who have suffered various types of orthopaedic trauma. You will develop skills in looking after pre and post op theatre patients. Learn how to recognise the deteriorating patient and be able to escalate to the appropriate team. You will gain experience and knowledge in all areas of patient care from admission to discharge. Working closely with the multi disciplinary team. We also have a dedicated trauma nurse and orthogeriatric doctor, who work with us to ensure care of the highest standard.

The successful candidate will be required to participate in internal rotation of shifts. You will need to be a clinical role model, with the willingness to contribute to the development of the team, as well as your own personal growth. You will need excellent communication skills, including verbal, non verbal and written, as well as being able to work effectively as part of the team.

It’s very important that we select the right nurses to come and work for us. The selection process for all nursing posts will include a Conversions, Medicines Management and Nursing Practice Numeracy Test. You will be invited to sit these assessments if you are successful for the position.
