Are you currently working as a band 5 nurse and aspiring to be a band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist?
We recognise that you may not have the clinical skills currently, and we are happy to train the right person to undertake this role (awarding the band 6 on completion of training). You would be supported in your training and development by the Consultants, Senior Nurse, Dietician, Pharmacist and Matron to achieve the knowledge and skills required. You will be integral to the MDT meetings and teaching of other staff
As part of a newly created Nutrition Support Team you will work collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary teams, enhancing the work and relationships established for our patients, assisting and providing support and clinical care to patients receiving parenteral or enteral nutrition. In addition, the post holder will work closely with dietitians, pharmacists and Clinicians to provide support to patients and their families.
Your role will help support the band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to improve our patients experiences through a variety of service evaluation and patient care. You will assist with providing advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health care professionals.
As part of our work with the Virginia Mason Institute we are always looking for ways to improve and evolve and we are looking for an individual who will participate and contribute to this forward thinking and innovative team. In addition to dietetic care of in-patients and out-patients, the post holder will attend MDT meetings, conduct teaching sessions for other Health Professionals, and contribute to the development of protocols and resources.
This is a full-time post, working Monday to Friday based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but with an expectation to work cross site at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford with a community link as required.
