System Sustainability and Transformation Director

for Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin STP


The STP has bold ambitions for providing a long term, sustainable service and financial vision for the future and emerging strategies to ensure delivery, and is looking to appoint an STP Director to lead their ambitious programme.

The STP is now preparing to respond to the requirements of the NHS Long Term Plan including coordinating work to prepare a 5 Year Plan which will replace the existing STP Plan.

A major reconfiguration of acute services has also been undertaken and the Future Fit programme, as it has been more commonly known, is now moving towards implementation

 In order to achieve our ambitions, we need strong system leadership to align strategic thinking with real clinical service change on the ground and this role will lead the programme to meet its objectives and realise the expected benefits and will have particular responsibility for ensuring that at all stages of the programme meets its’ responsibilities in relation to consultation and that all regulatory assurance frameworks in relation to any proposals are considered.  

The STP Director will work alongside the Independent Chair to provide assurance to the wider range of stakeholders including provider trusts, commissioners, regulators and local authorities.

You will ideally have Board level experience, personal credibility and a proven track record of leading large, complex change programmes, ideally within a regulated environment and be accustomed to a high level of accountability and comfortable operating in a complex, highly regulated environment. 

*Please note this is a Fixed Term contract for 2 years*
