Applicants must be able to work Monday to Friday initially, with the possibility of weekend working in the future.  You must be able to deal pleasantly, efficiently and sympathetically with all patients / relative enquiries at departmental level whilst demonstrating Trust values.  Experience of working in a hospital environment would be desirable as well as using Oracle and SemaPas IT Patient Administration Systems.

The position involves administrative support for the nursing staff on Ward 21F.  Ward 21F is a 16 bedded unit that specialises in frail and complex elderly discharges.  We have a rapid turnover of patients and the successful candidate must be able to operate within the needs of the service.

Applicants will work alongside the nursing team on the ward and will be required to be responsible for answering all ward telephone calls to the department as well as directing enquiries to appropriate member of staff. Good I.T. skills are essential as the post holder will be responsible for booking transport and ensuring that patient documents are properly filed and despatched on discharge.
