Due to the promotion of the existing post holder we have a rare and exciting opportunity for a part-time Band 2 Administrative & Clerical Officer to join our Team.

The Shropshire Bowel Cancer Screening Centre has been managing the screening programme for a population of approximately 482,800 people, covering the geographical area of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin since 2009.

This Service offers a one-off flexible sigmoidoscopy to 55 year old's and colonoscopies for 60 – 74 year old's.

The successful applicant will join an established, friendly and professional team, providing high quality care to all screening participants.

To fulfil this role you will need good communication and organisational skills, be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.  You must have the ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and work to deadlines.  Keyboard skills with experience of data inputting are essential.

The role is primarily general administrative duties, assisting with the organisation of patient appointments, ensuring all relevant databases are maintained accurately, retrieving patient case notes and filing.  You will provide administrative support to senior members of staff, minute taking in the absence of the Co-ordinator and responding to telephone calls from patients, carers and professional staff.

The screening sites are based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.  The post holder will be required to work 22 hours per week flexibly across both sites and will include evening working; it could also involve weekend working as the service expands.

As this post requires working across different sites, the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the role is essential.
