A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Urology Medical Secretaries team working within the Surgical, Oncology and Haematology centre. We are looking for an Admin Assistant to support the Urology medical Secretaries at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The post holder will undertake general administration duties to support a team of Medical Secretaries, helping to ensure an efficient service is provided. The post holder will be expected to work accurately under pressure with the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload.  

The successful applicants should have knowledge of good practice and system of work within the secretarial/PA field, knowledge of Health & Safety and an understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues.

The ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload is essential as are good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of staff groups at all levels. The successful applicant will work as part of a team and will gain valuable experience in the day-to-day management of a busy Medical Secretaries office. 

You should already possess 4 GCSEs (grades A-C) or equivalent, knowledge of MS office, general office experience and possess / be working towards an admin qualification either OCR (RSA) word processing stage 1 / 2 or NVQ level 2 / 3 Business or Medical Admin.
