Do you have a post graduate qualification in Mammography or are you interested in studying for one? Have you have been out of Radiography for some time and think you might like to return to work in Mammography?
The Breast Imaging Department at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is looking for a qualified, HPC registered Radiographer to join its multi-professional team. Preference will be given to candidates who already hold a post-graduate qualification in Mammography, although full training will be provided if necessary in line with Annexe 21.
As a qualified Mammographer you will participate in breast screening, assessment and symptomatic clinics within the static units of The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Shrewsbury and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford as well as performing screening mammography on mobile units at various locations throughout rural Shropshire. It is therefore essential that you hold a current UK full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
You must be committed to providing a high quality mammography service and be capable of working with accuracy and speed to NHS Breast Screening Programme standards and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. With a flexible approach to work you will be required to participate in weekend and evening sessions when necessary to meet the demands of the expanding screening population and symptomatic workload.
Our department is committed to radiographic role extension and CPD and currently has Advanced Practitioners undertaking stereo core biopsy and film-reading and Assistant Practitioners performing screening and symptomatic mammography. The role of the Consultant Radiographer is well-established within the department and we have recently introduced Advanced Clinical Practitioner roles.
Interviews may be held week commencing 13th May 2019.
If you would like to discuss this post in more detail or would like to arrange an informal visit to the department please contact Amanda Royle, Lead Superintendent Radiographer, or Val Williams, Deputy Superintendent Radiographer, on 01743 261080
