The successful applicant will rotate through the following areas -

Dispensary

Undertaking a full range of dispensary duties, including patient counselling, controlled drug supply and In/out-patient dispensing. As one of the sites responsible for developing the initial West Midlands Technician Checking programme, we recognise Accredited Checking Status is essential to enable career progression and will support individuals to attain Accredited Checking Status. We hold a WDA(H) license and provide stock supplies to the local healthcare community

Aseptic

Working within MS Licensed Aseptic facilities preparing Total Parenteral Nutrition, Monoclonal and Chemotherapy products, the Aseptic facilities are newly built, and supply the trusts cancer centre and surgical and gastroenterology teams. On-Site Quality Assurance is provided by a specialist team. Both the Aseptic and Quality Assurance teams regularly provide training to local higher education establishments and we routinely support staff to further their knowledge via the Aseptic Preparation and Dispensing of Medicines course and in-house training.

Medicines Management and optimisation

Our Band 4 technicians are valued members of the Medicines Management and Optimisation teams, attending clinical areas to support treatment delivery and ensure high cost, tariff excluded medicines are correctly used.
