If all these describe you then you are exactly who we are looking for to join our team of therapists at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This post is based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital which is a major trauma unit and receives patients for ongoing rehabilitation from the major trauma centre at Stoke as well as patients who do not need trauma centre care who present with neurological deficit following an acquired brain injury or stroke. This post is the lead therapist within their profession for neurological conditions for patients admitted to the hospital and will be required to support patients across many ward areas and clinical specialities as well as being the clinical resource for training and development of the general medical, surgical and orthopaedic teams. Our acute stroke service is based at Telford.
We are looking for someone who has a background in neurological conditions at band 6 or band 7 level who has experience of training and education of clinicians supporting patients rehabilitation and discharge planning. You will ideally be a clinical educator and have experience of delivering supervision of staff within a team. You will be required to undertake and/ or support one piece of audit per year relevant to your clinical area.

You will have the opportunity to be training in lean methodology and supporting in service review and improvement supported by dedicated therapy quality improvement leads and management.
As part of our patient centred care we require all staff to support our weekend working rota and therefore this role will be required to work across a 7 day working pattern – please give us a call to discuss what this means if you wish.
