It’s all in the Team, and we’re living the dream.
We are advertising for a Radiographer to join us at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and become part of our highly skilled CT team.
The hospital has 492 acute beds with specialties including acute surgical, medical, oncology, orthopaedics, neurology, renal services and A/E trauma providing services for Shropshire and Mid Wales.
We are a teaching site supporting undergraduate training for Keele, Birmingham and Bangor universities.
Shrewsbury is a large market town which offers many opportunities and recreational activities in a great environment.
We are a radiology department with on-going and recent investment in new CT, MRI and DR equipment.
The CT suite consists of 2 Siemens AS scanners. (64 and 128 slice). We undertake trauma, vascular, medical, surgical, interventional and cardiac CT scanning.
The CT team consists of friendly, supportive radiographers willing to make things happen and supports professional development opportunities. We operate a seven day service with extended days in the week from 8am – 8pm., with an on-call service from home outside these hours that the post-holder would be expected to participate in.
CT radiographers perform contrast injections and you will be trained to do this if not already competent. Specialist teaching will be given by the modality lead in CT and specialist cross-sectional Band 6 radiographers, to ensure the best imaging support and training is provided for you at your pace. We are looking for a radiographer with a passion to develop their career in the CT specialist modality. It would be an advantage if you had an interest in CT virtual colonoscopy and cardiac scanning.
We like to be pro-active in undertaking CPD and a desire to provide engaging teaching in others rotating through the CT modality. We actively support development with a structured training programme, and advanced practice in extended roles such as radiographer reporting and CT colonography. We would like to hear from you even if you are recently qualified, as enthusiasm and respect for the trust values is as valuable to us as experience. You will need to be passionate about caring and making a difference, have excellent communication skills and the confidence to make good clinical judgments. There may be opportunities to learn other modality skills such as MRI once CT competent
We are a developing centre within a Trust at an exciting development stage of service re-configuration, which will bring many exciting future in-house development opportunities in advanced practice roles
If you think you might be the person to fit in to this job role please give us a call. Informal visits are encouraged so you can see for yourself what a great team you will be working in.
