This week our Face of SaTH is Sister Nicky Cork.
“My role is to lead and co-ordinate the Surgical Assessment Unit at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) and to nurse Bariatric Patients post-operatively.
“I began my Nursing career in Theatre at RSH and always had a special interest in surgery.
"I then went on to Nurse in the Princess Royal Hospital on Ward 12 and 14, which was a Surgical Assessment Unit and an elective Surgical Ward. Here, we developed our Bariatric Pathway with Mr Sigurdsson - which has continued to successfully expand.
“A typical day for me involves ensuring that our teams of Doctors and Nurses deliver care that meets our Patient’s expectations in a safe timely manner to enhance their recovery and keep the patient flow moving.
“My favourite part of my role is seeing patients go home with successful outcomes and a smile, and my biggest achievement is being able to combine my career with family life!
“Out of Work I enjoy spending time on our small holding, family time, walking and Calligraphy.”
Amazing work Nicky! ????????
